Welcome

Welcome to Bursary Finder. We hope that you find your ideal bursary. Please don't be selfish and share this site that has lead to your great success with your family and friends.

What do we do?

We began in 1994 as a vision sparked between several committed learners at a township high-school and an environmental lawyer, Norton Tennille, who is passionate about education. SAEP’s culture still reflects the early days of the organisation where bright young people were invited into our founders’ home to dream and to learn together. Our programmes are all targeted at children, youth and education providers in the Cape Town’s severely under-resourced Philippi township and beyond and include: Early Childhood Development – assisting to develop under-resourced township ‘educare’ centres. Siyakhathala Primary Schools (pilot) – strengthening literacy & learning development at primary schools. Hope Scholars – academic tutoring, life skills and career guidance for grades 8 & 9 learners. ADT Teach – using innovative mobile computer labs to teach computer skills in grades 10-12. It is hoped to expand to Grade 9 as of 2016. Arts Outreach – after-school visual art, drama, dance, and music workshops at high schools. Bridging Year – university preparedness and academic literacy skills for recent matriculants. Tertiary Support – promoting retention and success in tertiary studies for programme alumni. SAEP’s Impact Centre supports all of these programmes through monitoring and evaluation, research, and sharing of lessons learnt through a variety of media and forums.

Achievements

One of our girls, Mushfiqah Arnolds, has done herself and her family proud. She has her masters in Computer Sciences and she is managing one of the most prestigious software companies.
